Pound Cashier – DVLA Glasgow

We’re looking for a reliable and organised individual to support the day-to-day running of our vehicle pound operation. As a Pound Cashier, you’ll play a key role in ensuring everything runs smoothly — from handling payments and records to supporting the wider operational team.
- Support the Pound Supervisor with the day-to-day running of the vehicle pound
- Carry out administrative duties to ensure the contract office runs efficiently
- Assist with allocating work to Enforcement Officers and Recovery Vehicle Drivers
- Produce vehicle condition, operational and reconciliation reports
- Maintain and securely store all required documentation
- Process the release of impounded vehicles in line with procedures
- Operate the cash receipting system and maintain accurate financial records
- Handle telephone enquiries and written correspondence from the public and stakeholders
- Provide clear, professional advice on vehicle release and enforcement procedures
- Deal with customer enquiries and complaints, escalating where appropriate
- Maintain accurate records in line with company procedures and GDPR
- Complete incident, health & safety and accident reports when required
- Support the wider team to ensure smooth delivery of the contract
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills, including a professional telephone manner
- Confident dealing with customers in challenging situations
- Strong administrative and report writing skills
- High attention to detail with accurate record keeping
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Flexible and able to adapt to business needs
- A team player who thrives in a busy operational environment
- Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role (essential)
- Experience using a cash receipting system (essential)
