Pound Cashier – DVLA Glasgow

We’re looking for a reliable and organised individual to support the day-to-day running of our vehicle pound operation. As a Pound Cashier, you’ll play a key role in ensuring everything runs smoothly — from handling payments and records to supporting the wider operational team.

What you’ll do:
  • Support the Pound Supervisor with the day-to-day running of the vehicle pound
  • Carry out administrative duties to ensure the contract office runs efficiently
  • Assist with allocating work to Enforcement Officers and Recovery Vehicle Drivers
  • Produce vehicle condition, operational and reconciliation reports
  • Maintain and securely store all required documentation
  • Process the release of impounded vehicles in line with procedures
  • Operate the cash receipting system and maintain accurate financial records
  • Handle telephone enquiries and written correspondence from the public and stakeholders
  • Provide clear, professional advice on vehicle release and enforcement procedures
  • Deal with customer enquiries and complaints, escalating where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records in line with company procedures and GDPR
  • Complete incident, health & safety and accident reports when required
  • Support the wider team to ensure smooth delivery of the contract

  • Strong communication skills, including a professional telephone manner
  • Confident dealing with customers in challenging situations
  • Strong administrative and report writing skills
  • High attention to detail with accurate record keeping
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Flexible and able to adapt to business needs
  • A team player who thrives in a busy operational environment
  • Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role (essential)
  • Experience using a cash receipting system (essential)
