The RoleWould you like to play a key role in supporting the delivery of healthcare services within a unique and rewarding environment? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an organised and motivated Administrator to join the Prison Healthcare Team at HMP Barlinnie. Working closely with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, you will provide high-quality administrative support that helps ensure patients receive timely and effective care.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern- Full Time, Permanent
- You will be based at HMP Barlinnie
- Working Pattern:
Week 1 Monday
- Friday 08:00 - 16:00;
Week 2 Monday
- Thursday 08:00 - 16:00 and Friday 08:00 - 12:30
- Provide comprehensive and confidential administrative support to healthcare staff within the Health Centre
- Manage and maintain electronic and manual healthcare records ensuring accuracy and compliance with data protection requirements
- Coordinate specialist clinic appointments, waiting lists and hospital referrals
- Respond professionally to telephone calls, enquiries and correspondence from a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare documentation, letters, reports and meeting minutes as required
- Maintain effective filing systems and accurately input clinical and administrative data
- Support the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the service through effective organisation and prioritisation of workload
- Educated to Standard Grade, SVQ level or equivalent qualification
- Relevant administrative experience within a busy office or healthcare environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and other digital systems
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional and confidential approach
- Experience of maintaining accurate records and managing sensitive information
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team while using initiative to manage workload effectively independently
