The Role
Are you an organised, proactive and compassionate administrator looking to make a real difference to patient care? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Medical Secretary to provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and multidisciplinary teams within Acute Services. This is a rewarding and varied role where you will play a key part in supporting patient pathways, coordinating clinical activity and ensuring the smooth running of busy services.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern- Part-time, Permanent
- You will be based at The New Victoria Hospital
- Working Pattern:
Monday and Tuesday 8.30-4.30 - Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
- Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and clinical teams
- Manage diaries, correspondence, clinic administration and a range of departmental processes
- Coordinate patient appointments, admissions, investigations and follow-up arrangements
- Act as a key point of contact for patients, relatives, staff and external agencies, dealing with enquiries professionally and sensitively
- Maintain accurate patient information using a variety of clinical and administrative systems
- Support waiting list management and contribute to achieving service targets and performance standards
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery
- HNC/SVQ Level III in Secretarial Studies, Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload
- Advanced keyboard skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic information systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact at all times
- Experience with in a healthcare environment and knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous
