Medical Receptionist - Mat Leave Cover

Due to forthcoming maternity leave, we are looking to recruit an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team. The post will initially be on a Temporary basis to assist over the next 12 months however we are happy to consider a permanent post on successful completion.

We are looking for a cheerful, efficient and enthusiastic individual/s to work within our busy practice team and support our surgeries.

The ability to multi-task, remain calm under pressure and think on your feet is essential.

Experience of working in a reception environment is essential. Experience in our EMIS and DOCMAN systems would also be an advantage. Experience of touch or audio typing is also desirable.

• Offering assistance to the Practice team whilst projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
• Receiving, assisting and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
• Dealing with administrative queries and requests from patients/clinicians
• Arranging appointments via our clinical software
• Giving test results/messages to patients
• Dealing with Prescription requests
• Processing patient registrations
• Ensuring patient details are up to date

• Excellent customer service and be patient focused
• Understand the importance of confidentiality
