SummaryCSN is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Repair Planner to lead the repair planning process at CSN Dundas Valley. The Repair Planner is responsible for ensuring complete, accurate, and profitable repair files by leading the repair planning process from disassembly to final file closure. This role reviews estimates for accuracy, writes supplements post‑disassembly, and ensures all billable items and OEM procedures are properly captured and communicated.
Acting as a key link between estimating and production, the Repair Planner ensures all repairs are executed to standard and ready for billing.
- Ensure Estimate Accuracy and Profitability:
Review all estimates for completeness, accuracy, and profitability, ensuring all repair operations and billable items are captured before file finalization. - Perform Comprehensive Repair Plan Post‑Disassembly: conduct thorough supplement writing after disassembly to reflect the full scope of repairs and parts required, ensuring alignment with actual vehicle damage.
- Confirm Billable Procedures and Operations:
Validate that all labour, parts, materials, and OEM‑mandated procedures are accurately documented and billed on the estimate. - Adhere to OEM Repair Specifications:
Confirm all repairs are planned/performed according to OEM guidelines, including scanning, calibrations, corrosion protection, weld tests, etc. - Document and Communicate Repair Procedures:
Prepare and distribute proper repair documentation to production teams, including structural and mechanical requirements, to ensure quality and compliance. - Final File Review and Closure:
Own the end‑to‑end process of finalizing repairs, submitting to the correct payee, and preparing the file for billing and closure with all necessary documentation. - Support Production Flow and Technician Clarity:
Act as the technical link between estimating and, providing clear repair direction and updates where required. - Identify and Mitigate File Discrepancies Early:
Spot inconsistencies or missing information early in the process to avoid supplement delays, rejections, or profitability loss. - Collaborate with Insurers and Adjusters Effectively:
Liaise with insurance partners to validate repair scope, manage approvals, and advocate for proper repairs and full reimbursement. - Drive Continuous Improvement in File Quality:
Monitor trends in estimate errors, missed billables, or delays in finalization, and work with management to develop training or process improvements. - Have a thorough understanding of estimating software, required to process estimates. Locating assignments from insurer and understanding the requirements. Understanding terms on assignment (LOU‑Loss of use, WP‑With prejudice, 43endorsement, betterment, deductible.)
- Highlight upsell opportunities to front‑line Estimating team.
- Photograph vehicle damages as per shop policy and insurer requirement. Ensuring photos are high quality.
- Determine if a vehicle requires disassembly for an accurate estimate. (ARP)
