Description

This role will primarily support the delivery of large-scale Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) programmes for global FMCG and agri‑food clients, alongside broader supplier engagement and responsible sourcing work.

Key Responsibilities

With over 1,300 experts globally, we work with leading organisations to drive sustainable performance and create long‑term value. Our Value Chain Transformation team works across private, public and not‑for‑profit sectors, supporting clients to address sustainability challenges across the full product lifecycle—from raw materials through to end markets.

We are seeking a Junior Consultant to join our Value Chain Transformation team in the UK.

As a Junior Consultant, you will work as part of a wider project team, supporting the delivery of high‑quality outputs while developing your technical knowledge and consulting skills. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to a range of projects across sectors, gaining broad exposure to sustainability challenges and solutions. This is an entry‑level role, designed to provide strong foundations for progression within Anthesis.

  • Support the delivery of MRV and supplier engagement programmes for global agri‑food clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of client deliverables, including reports, presentations and data summaries.
  • Support project coordination activities, including tracking timelines, actions and outputs.
  • Contribute to internal and client meetings, including preparation and note‑taking.
  • Support the collection, cleaning and validation of data across MRV programmes.
  • Assist with analysis of environmental and supply chain data (e.g., greenhouse gas emissions, land use, living wages).
  • Maintain and update datasets, trackers and reporting tools.
  • Support documentation of methodologies, assumptions and data sources.
  • Support supplier onboarding and engagement activities within MRV programmes.
  • Assist in preparing communications, guidance materials and training content.
  • Help track supplier participation and follow up on data and engagement activities.
  • Conduct research on sustainability topics, particularly within agri‑food and supply chains.
  • Support the development of insights and content for client deliverables.
  • Build knowledge of relevant frameworks and standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi).
  • Support supplier engagement programmes through evaluation of sustainability incentives and adoption mechanisms.
  • Provide general support across project teams, including administrative and coordination tasks.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support business development activities where appropriate (e.g., desk‑based research).
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Essential
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g., environmental science, sustainability, agriculture, geography, economics).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel and confidence working with data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrable interest in sustainability, agri‑food systems and regenerative agriculture.
Desirable
  • Understanding of sustainability frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi, Scope
    3).
  • Exposure to agri‑food or FMCG supply chains.
  • Experience working with datasets, reporting tools or data visualisation.
  • Knowledge of MRV approaches or environmental metrics.
Our Culture & Development

At Anthesis, we are committed to supporting early‑career professionals to grow and succeed. In this role, you will:

  • Work alongside experienced consultants and subject matter experts.
  • Receive structured support and on‑the‑job learning.
  • Develop technical expertise in MRV, supply chain sustainability and data analysis.
  • Gain exposure to a diverse range of clients and projects.
  • Build the skills required to progress to Consultant level.

We are looking for individuals who are curious, proactive, collaborative and motivated to build a career in sustainability consulting.
