The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Governance & Reporting Manager to join a high-profile infrastructure and capability programme supporting critical operational assets and services.

Working within a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment, you will play a pivotal role in enabling effective governance, reporting, decision-making and stakeholder engagement across a complex programme landscape.

This position offers the opportunity to influence strategic outcomes, work closely with senior stakeholders and help shape governance processes that support the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.

The Role

You will take responsibility for leading and maintaining governance frameworks, RACI matrices, process maps and ways of working, ensuring governance activities effectively support programme management, control and decision-making.

Your role will involve developing and managing stakeholder engagement activities, coordinating communication across multiple stakeholder groups, and supporting programme change control processes to ensure compliance and accurate maintenance of change logs.

You will prepare governance reports, analyse programme data and provide clear insights to support senior-level decision-making. You will also maintain oversight of programme risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and opportunities (RAIDO), ensuring these are effectively managed and communicated.

Working closely with programme delivery, planning and project controls teams, you ll help ensure schedules and reporting remain accurate and up to date. You will also provide governance assurance and constructive challenge where processes or standards are not being followed.

The role will include supporting governance boards and meetings through the timely production of reports, documentation and decision papers, as well as managing lessons learned and knowledge management activities to ensure best practice is captured and shared.

You ll also provide support across project support functions, including secretariat activities, document control and reporting compliance, helping to deliver effective governance and reporting within a complex, fast-paced infrastructure environment.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years  experience within a governance, programme controls or project governance role
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk management, scheduling and project processes
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or capital delivery programmes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Ability to analyse complex data and translate findings into concise senior-level briefings
  • Experience managing governance reporting, decision logs, actions and programme controls
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications
  • Experience using reporting and project management tools such as Power BI and Jira
  • Ability to obtain or hold SC Security Clearance
  • Sole UK National status due to security requirements

  • Experience working within government, defence or regulated programme environments
  • Knowledge of government project delivery frameworks
  • Experience engaging with and influencing executive-level stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively within complex operational environments
  • Experience managing governance across multiple work streams and stakeholder groups
  • Professional project or programme management qualifications such as:
    • APM Chartered Project Professional
    • PRINCE2 Practitioner
    • MSP Practitioner
    • PMP
    • APMG Planning & Control Practitioner
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Experience working in highly regulated or security-sensitive environments
