The Data Analyst is responsible for leading the delivery and development of reporting, analysis and insight across the Customer Service Directorate, providing a trusted view of business performance through operational, management and regulatory reporting.

Working as part of the newly repurposed Performance, Reporting & Insight team, the postholder will bring established analytical expertise and a strong understanding of data, reporting and insight to support decision making across the directorate. Using data from a range of sources, they will identify trends, risks, opportunities and root causes, translating complex information into actionable insight and recommendations that drive business performance and support operational and strategic decision making.

The role will become a subject matter expert for the operational areas they support, embedding themselves within teams to develop a detailed understanding of processes, performance drivers, customer outcomes and business challenges. Through strong stakeholder management and collaboration, they will build trusted relationships, shape reporting requirements, manage expectations and ensure insight reflects both the data and the operational context behind it.

As a key member of the team, the postholder will play an important role in establishing a single, trusted view of performance across Customer Service, leading improvements in reporting capability, data quality and analytical standards. They will use insight to positively influence decision making, challenge constructively where required and help ensure data is used to drive improved outcomes for customers, colleagues and the business.

Reporting & Visualisation

Develop and maintain insightful dashboards, KPI reporting and data visualisations using Excel, Tableau and Power BI to support strategic and operational decision making.

Analysis & Insight

Analyse complex datasets using tools such as Excel, Power Query, Tableau Prep, SQL, Python or R to identify trends, root causes and opportunities for business improvement, translating findings into actionable insight and recommendations.

Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering

Develop strong relationships across the Customer Service Directorate, becoming an expert in the operational areas you support. Work closely with stakeholders to understand performance drivers, business challenges and operational context, ensuring reporting and insight are aligned to business needs and support informed decision making.

Insight Presentation & Performance Improvement

Present insight, findings and recommendations to a range of stakeholders, using data to challenge constructively, influence decision making and drive improved business performance. Manage stakeholder expectations effectively and communicate findings in a clear and balanced way that encourages engagement with data and supports positive change.

Regulatory & Operational Reporting

Lead the delivery of regulatory and operational reporting requirements, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely and aligned to business, governance and compliance requirements.

Continuous Improvement

Drive improvements in reporting processes, data quality and analytical capability, contributing to the ongoing development of the Performance, Reporting & Insight function and embedding a culture of data-driven decision making across Customer Service.
