Finance Manager, Sales Compensation – Strategic Centre of Excellence The TeamWe are a high-accountability, globally connected Sales Compensation team that values disciplined execution, a strong sense of urgency, and end-to-end ownership. We expect our people to understand the full lifecycle of their work, anticipate downstream impacts, and communicate outcomes with exceptional clarity, whether supporting our broad population of 1,500+ plan participants or partnering with C-level executives. We value precision, responsiveness, sound judgment, collaboration, and people who take ownership through to resolution.
Responsibilitiesand Impact
This is a rare opportunity to own the policy architecture at the heart of a global sales compensation function — one that directly shapes how over 1,500 salespeople are motivated, rewarded, and supported across S&P Global Market Intelligence. As the strategic and governance authority for this Centre of Excellence, you will not just apply policy — you will design it, working at the intersection of Finance, Legal, and Sales to build frameworks that are legally sound, commercially intelligent, and operationally scalable.
If you combine deep compensation expertise with the executive presence to defend your decisions to senior leadership and the precision to ensure every calculation is right, this role will give you the scope and influence to match.
Design and own the global policy framework governing sales compensation operations — establishing legally robust policies, global approval matrices, and governance standards that deliver clarity, consistency, and accountability across the full plan participant population.
Lead compensation integration during corporate transactions, spinoffs, and restructurings — evaluating, mapping, and aligning incentive plans and personnel structures to ensure continuity, policy compliance, and operational readiness throughout periods of significant organisational change.
Own end-to-end precision across all sales compensation KPI, SPIFF, and custom supplemental incentive calculations — from data collection and validation through to final output, ensuring every result is accurate, audit-ready, and aligned with commercial milestones and plan requirements.
Serve as the trusted policy and compensation advisor to senior Sales, Finance, and People Partner stakeholders — translating complex governance frameworks, incentive structures, and policy decisions into clear, commercially relevant guidance that drives consistency and scalability across the global commission population.
Govern escalated disputes and deliver insight — managing complex compensation disputes to resolution against defined SLAs, evaluating proposed supplemental incentive structures before implementation, and presenting data-backed performance trends, risks, and optimisation recommendations to senior Finance and Sales leadership.
Build the operational knowledge infrastructure — drafting detailed SOPs and governance workflows, developing interactive training libraries for sales representatives, and project managing multi-phased compensation initiatives to ensure adoption, compliance, and long-term operational sustainability across the global commission population.
