Graduate Quantity Surveyor Wanted to Fuel Our Growth Across Scotland!

Location:

Glasgow

Company Type:
Scottish Main Contractor (Insite Contracts Division)

With over 20 years of construction experience, Insite Group’s success is built on the collective strength of our specialised divisions. Within Insite Contracts, we offer a truly comprehensive delivery model, tackling a diverse portfolio of exciting projects across Scotland, ranging from sleek commercial fit-outs and complex life science labs to major industrial developments and bespoke hospitality venues.

We are currently looking to grow our Commercial Team to account for our continued increase of project requirements. We are seeking a focused, proactive, energetic & dynamic Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our hard-working team and kick-start their commercial career in construction.

Not Just Any Role

We don’t just want someone who can crunch numbers; we want someone who wants to learn how to manage the commercial life cycle of a project from the ground up. As our Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will be a vital engine driving our business forward. You won’t be stuck in a silo. You will thrive on the energetic interaction required in a fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with clients, subcontractors, site managers, and senior commercial teams to ensure our projects are delivered successfully, profitably, and accurately.

Your

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Support:
Assist senior commercial staff in the financial management of projects ranging from £50k to £6m+, from inception through to final accounts.
  • Cost Control & Measurement:
Learn to prepare accurate valuations, variations, and cost reports, helping to protect our project margins.
  • Build Relationships:
Assist in managing and expanding our robust network of Scottish subcontractors, including measuring works, issuing inquiries, and assessing tender returns.
  • Collaborate Effectively:
Engage closely with the wider team to ensure seamless communication between site delivery and commercial management teams, leading to excellent client outcomes.
What You Bring To The Team (Requirements)
  • Education:

A recently completed or nearing completion degree (BSc Hons) in Quantity Surveying or a closely related commercial construction discipline.
  • Market Passion: A keen interest in the Scottish construction market and a desire to build your career across Glasgow and wider Scotland.
  • Technical Rigor:
Sharp analytical skills, strong IT literacy (particularly Excel), and the ability to interpret technical drawings and project documentation.
  • Attitude:
An energetic, focused, and positive approach that matches our "can-do" company culture and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills—you need to enjoy engaging with people, sub-contractors, and clients, not just data.
  • Problem Solving: A proactive mindset with the ability to use your initiative to resolve challenges as they arise on site or in the office.
Why You Want To Work Here (The Benefits)

When you join us, you aren’t just taking a job; you’re fuelling a Scottish success story and gaining invaluable mentorship.

Dynamic Culture:
Work in a high-energy, supportive, and non-bureaucratic environment where your proactive contributions are valued immediately.

Diverse Projects: A strong and healthy pipeline of varied, high-impact projects across multiple sectors (£50k-£15m) to fast-track your experience.

Career Support:
Backed by over 20 years of group expertise, we heavily invest in our graduates, providing direct mentorship and support toward professional development and chartership (RICS).

Package:
Competitive graduate salary, pension, and additional benefits, all of which will be defined prior to any interview.
