Assistant Programme Manager

Location:

Glasgow (Office-based, 5 days per week)

Salary:
Up to £75,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Are you an organised and driven programme professional looking to take the next step in your career? We're working with a leading UK infrastructure organisation to recruit an Assistant Programme Manager to join a high-profile digital infrastructure team delivering complex, large-scale projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established Programme Management Office (PMO), supporting the successful planning, monitoring and delivery of major projects from pre-construction through to completion.

You'll work closely with experienced Programme Managers and Project Managers, gaining exposure to nationally significant programmes while developing your own career within a supportive and ambitious environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Programme Manager and PMO team in developing and maintaining project programmes.
  • Produce and update project schedules across pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Monitor contractor performance against approved baseline programmes.
  • Track project progress, identify delays and highlight programme risks.
  • Produce weekly and monthly programme reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Maintain project trackers and ensure programme information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Support programme reviews and attend project progress meetings.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and delivery teams to gather programme updates.
  • Assist in monitoring project documentation and key delivery milestones.
  • Provide programme analysis to support successful project delivery.
About You
  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • APM PMQ, PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Experience using MS Project, Asta Power project or similar planning software.
  • Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of programme impacts on cost, risk and project delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to UK project sites and regional offices when required.
  • Eligibility to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance (or already hold DV clearance).
