Overview
Due to continued growth and projects we are looking for an individual with practical experience of Town and Country Planning to join our team in Scotland. While access to our Glasgow or Edinburgh office is preferable, applicants from outside of the central belt will be considered. We are able to arrange flexible working to suit the right individual. Key clients in this region include the energy, transport and defence sectors.

- Lead and coordinate planning related deliverables and work closely with clients.
- Develop new areas of business and mentor colleagues in the team.
- Manage a broad range of planning applications and associated supporting documents for a wide range of development projects.
- Provide strategic planning advice to a varied private sector client base from inception to final delivery.
- Manage key client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities and support the continued growth of the consultancy.
- Represent clients at meetings, hearings and public consultations where required.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level planning professionals.
- MRTPI qualified with significant post-qualification experience.
- Chartered status and proven experience within a planning consultancy environment or similar.
- Strong technical knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy.
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and client management skills.
- Leadership experience and the ability to manage and inspire teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a wide range of projects.
- Flexible, adaptable and prepared to take on new challenges and work from other AtkinsRéalis or client office locations.
- Experience of Section 36 or Section 37 applications and DCO would be an advantage but not critical.
