Site Supervisor (Civils) - 33kV Substations

Site Supervisor (Civils) - 33kV Substations

Location: Scotland - Projects across Scotland

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Company Van & Fuel Card

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Start Date: Immediate

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Civils Site Supervisor to join a team delivering major infrastructure works across a long-term 33kV SSE private networks framework.

This role will suit a Site Supervisor with a strong background in civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure, ideally with experience working around substations, electrical infrastructure or other technically complex sites.

You’ll be site-based, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of civils works and coordinating subcontractors, labour and site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

Projects typically run for around three months before moving onto the next site, so you’ll need to be comfortable travelling throughout Scotland.

The Role

As Civils Site Supervisor, you’ll take responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering works associated with substation and utility infrastructure projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising civils teams, subcontractors and site activities
  • Managing day-to-day civils works on substation and infrastructure projects
  • Coordinating excavation, foundations, drainage, ducting, concrete and reinstatement works
  • Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements
  • Managing site activities to programme and identifying potential delays or issues
  • Coordinating interfaces between civils, electrical and other project disciplines
  • Conducting site briefings, toolbox talks and ensuring site teams work safely
  • Monitoring quality and ensuring works are completed to the required standard
  • Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and client representatives
  • Ensuring RAMS, permits and other site documentation are in place and adhered to
  • Supporting site inspections, progress reporting and handover activities
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone with a strong civils and infrastructure background who is confident supervising works on active construction sites.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Site Supervisor / Site Manager within civils, utilities or infrastructure
  • Strong experience with groundworks, excavation, ducting, drainage, foundations and concrete works
  • Experience working around substations, power infrastructure or utility projects is highly desirable
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
  • Good understanding of construction programmes, RAMS and site documentation
  • SSSTS qualification - essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel and work across Scotland

Experience working on SSE or SPEN frameworks would be advantageous.

You don’t need to be an electrical specialist for this position — the key requirement is strong civils supervision experience within a utilities, infrastructure or technically complex construction environment.

What’s On Offer
  • £45,000 - £50,000 salary
  • Company van and fuel card
  • Long-term work on an established SSE framework
  • Immediate start available
  • Consistent pipeline of projects across Scotland
  • Opportunity to work on major energy infrastructure projects
  • Permanent position with long-term career prospects

If you’re an experienced Civils Site Supervisor with a background in utilities, infrastructure, groundworks or substation-related civils and you’re looking for a long-term role across Scotland, we’d like to hear from you.
