Are you looking for a Project Director role? Interested in working for a leading Design and Build Contractor with decades of experience?

VANRATH are recruiting a Project Director to work on large new build projects including residential, student accommodation, hotels and commercial. The business has projects in various locations across the UK including London, Midlands, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Client

Our client is a leading Design & Build Contractor with decades of experience and a turnover of circa £500 million. They cover a range of projects across various sectors including hotels, student accommodation, commercial offices and residential and have built a strong reputation for delivering projects to the highest of standards.

The business has a lot of work in the pipeline and are looking for Project Directors in various locations. Reporting to the Contracts Director, the Project Director will be responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish, delivering high quality project on program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a strategic link between the design department, commercial team and site
  • Produce accurate, consistent and professional records, reports and general information
  • Act as the main interface with the client and government officials
  • Ensure all processes are being adhered to on a project by project basis
  • Survey sites to mitigate problems and check viability of design
  • Ensure the project meets customer expectations in relation to build and finish
  • Manage and coordinate sub-contract and direct labour work forces
  • Provide labour costing for various projects to determine feasibility and profitability
  • Customer relationship management to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Supervise and coach staff as and when development is required
  • Produce reports on job progress and remedials
The Ideal Person:
  • Degree qualified or other relative qualifications
  • Track record working on large new build projects £20m+ in value
  • Experience as a Project Director on similar projects
  • Commercially aware with extensive knowledge of all disciplines involved in the construction process including design coordination, quantity surveying and procurement
  • In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety and other regulatory matters
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong motivator able to get the best out of site teams
  • IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
