An established civil engineering and groundworks contractor is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in civils, groundworks or enabling works, with the ability to manage projects commercially from procurement through to final account.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the commercial aspects of civils and groundworks projects.
- Prepare and submit valuations, variations and payment applications.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and applications.
- Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts.
- Procure subcontractors and materials.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Identify and manage variations and additional works.
- Prepare and agree final accounts.
- Monitor project performance against budget.
- Produce accurate commercial reports and cost forecasts.
- Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors.
- Ensure contractual and commercial obligations are maintained.
- Support the wider commercial team with tendering and pricing where required.
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils and/or groundworks.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
- Experience managing valuations, variations, subcontractors and final accounts.
- Good understanding of project costs, budgets and forecasting.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts would be advantageous.
- £60,000 - £75,000 DOE.
