Job Advert

Are you a qualified building surveyor with experience in social housing and a passion for making a difference? The United Reformed Church Retired Ministers’ Housing Society is looking for a Regional Surveyor to join our small, dedicated team and help ensure retired ministers live in safe, comfortable and well-maintained homes.

In this role, you will play a key part in managing repairs and maintenance across our 260 properties, undertaking property and stock condition surveys, assessing homes, specifying adaptations and managing both planned and reactive maintenance. You’ll prepare technical specifications, manage and oversee contractors, undertake inspections and work within budget and to agreed timescales, all while playing a central role in delivering and improving our asset management strategy.

You will also contribute to building safety, compliance, investment planning, energy efficiency and retrofit initiatives. Your work will directly impact the quality of life for our residents, helping them live safely and independently in their later years.

We are looking for someone with residential maintenance and building surveying experience, ideally within social housing and a strong understanding of adaptations for elderly or disabled residents. You’ll be confident in providing technical advice, communicating complex technical information clearly, managing contractors and budgets effectively, and work collaboratively with colleagues. Educated to degree level with RICS or CIOB membership/accreditation, strong IT skills and a full driving licence are essential.

This is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to combine your technical expertise with a meaningful purpose. If you want a role where your skills make a real difference to people’s lives, and where you can contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality homes, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.
