Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Surveyor to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment at RTK Stamford Ltd. This role is ideal for an ambitious graduate looking to further develop their career in Quantity Surveying and provides structured support, hands-on project experience and a clear pathway towards professional chartership.

The organisation

RTK is a practice of 14 architects, designers and surveyors with a main office in Stamford and a further office in Oundle. It was established 35 years ago with a focus on high-end residential projects (often Listed) regionally within Stamford, Rutland and the surrounding counties either for private individuals, nearby country estates or commercial organisations.

Your new role

As a Graduate Surveyor, you will support the successful delivery of capital investment and construction projects from initial concept through to completion and handover. Working directly with an experienced Director, who is also an APC Assessor for the RICS, you will gain exposure to the full project life cycle, including design development, cost estimating, procurement, contract administration, cost reporting and final account settlement.

Key

responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the delivery of cost management and quantity surveying commissions.
  • Assisting with estimating, cost planning, procurement and tender processes.
  • Producing cost reports and project documentation.
  • Supporting contract administration activities under industry-standard forms of contract.
  • Building strong working relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
  • Contributing to project reviews, analysis and reporting exercises.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Attending industry networking and professional development events.
  • Working collaboratively within a client-focused team environment.
What you’ll need to succeed

Applications are welcomed from recent graduates as well as candidates who have gained some industry experience through placements, internships or graduate-level surveying positions.

  • A desire and commitment to work towards professional chartership with RICS.
  • A strong understanding of quantity surveying and cost management principles.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, cost reporting and contract administration.

  • Excellent communication, numeracy and report-writing skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and relationship management.

  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality professional consultancy services.
What you’ll get in return
  • Competitive annual salary up to £30,000 depending on experience.
  • Structured support towards becoming a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • The company will pay for one annual professional membership, e.g. RICS.
  • Hybrid working available (in due course).
  • Ongoing training and career development opportunities.
  • Exposure to a broad range of projects and sectors.
  • The opportunity to work alongside experienced industry professionals.
