A part‑time, fixed‑term role to deliver the Proof of Concept phase of our National Lottery Heritage Fund Heritage Places programme. You’ll be establishing a policy and framework for the creation of an archive for the District ensuring that the diverse community stories are included. You will be working with individuals and groups to test the creation of a community archive. Our ideal candidate will be experienced in the creation and management of archives and using person‑centred learning approaches.
We’relooking for:
- PG Dip in Archive Administration OR equivalent experience, such as: completion of Level 7 Archivist Apprenticeship OR substantial professional experience in archive or heritage settings demonstrating independent responsibility for cataloguing, collections care, systems development, and community engagement.
- Knowledge and direct experience of working with archives, project management standards and current professional best practice.
- Working knowledge and experience of archive and cataloguing to recognised professional standards.
- Experience of creating opportunities for contemporary collecting to be able to tell more diverse, inclusive stories.
The role (17.5 hours per week) will be based Glasgow. The salary is £36,272.27 - £42,116.92 per year (FTE). Contract ends 31 December 2027.
