Locum Consultant in Restorative Dentistry

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

Applications are invited for a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. This is a Locum 0.5 WTE post (5PA) at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School, the largest provider of specialist oral healthcare in Scotland. The post is fixed term for 12 months, with a shift pattern to be confirmed. Salary is pro rata for part‑time hours.

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment primarily for Periodontics and Endodontics services.
• Give advice and develop treatment plans for referring practitioners and, where appropriate, deliver treatment.
• Actively contribute to the teaching and training of postgraduate dentists to specialist level.
• Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, quality improvement activity and research participation.
• Perform clinical activity in other restorative disciplines as service demands arise.

• Full GDC registration and completion of Specialist Training, with the GDC Restorative Dentistry Specialist Register (or a CCST date within six months of interview).
• High level knowledge and expertise in Restorative Dentistry, particularly in Periodontics and Endodontics.
• Experience in teaching postgraduate dentists at specialist level is desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
