Shift PatternThe post is Monday to Friday, with no out of hours or on‑call commitment. An on‑call rota provides an Oral Medicine opinion during working hours to support specialty dentists and junior staff.
Post DetailsA Substantive Specialty Dentist within the Oral Medicine Department based at Glasgow Dental Hospital. The prime clinical role is to provide specialist service for general dental and medical practitioners referring outpatients with complex oral mucosal disease, oral disease as a manifestation of systemic disease, or complex facial pain. The incumbent will support service re‑design work, providing diagnostic skills, treatment planning and where appropriate shared care pathways with primary care clinicians.
Responsibilities- Provide specialist clinical care for complex oral mucosal disease, systemic disease manifestations and complex facial pain.
- Support service redesign, including diagnostic assessment and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with primary care clinicians to develop shared care pathways.
- Assist with on‑call rota to deliver Oral Medicine opinions during working hours.
- Full GDC registration.
- At least 4 years full‑time post graduate training in Oral Medicine or equivalent experience and competencies.
Flexible working options are offered where service needs allow. Where less than full‑time hours can be accommodated, flexible arrangements will be discussed during the recruitment process.
