Specialty Dentist in Oral Medicine

Shift pattern
:
Monday to Friday.

The post offered is a Substantive Specialty Dentist within the Oral Medicine Department based at Glasgow Dental Hospital. The post holder will contribute to all aspects of clinical activity in the Department of Oral Medicine. The prime clinical role is to provide a specialist service for local general dental and medical practitioners referring outpatients with complex oral mucosal disease, oral disease occurring as a manifestation of systemic disease or complex facial pain.

There is no out of hours or on‑call commitment.

• Provide specialist clinical care for patients referred for complex oral mucosal disease, systemic disease‑associated oral manifestations, and complex facial pain.
• Participate in an on‑call rota and second‑cover Consultant rota to ensure an Oral Medicine opinion can be provided during working hours and to support specialty dentists and junior staff.
• Support service re‑design work underway, offering diagnostic skills, treatment planning and shared care pathways with primary care clinicians.

• Full GDC Registration.
• Minimum of 4 years full‑time postgraduate training or evidence of equivalent experience and competencies.
