Architect / Sr. Architect, CAD/ AutoCAD/ Mechanical Design, Environmental & Urban Planning
Are you a Project Architect who wants to take ownership of varied, technically interesting work while joining a respected consultancy with a strong Scottish presence? I’m recruiting on behalf of an established multidisciplinary practice in Glasgow that is looking to appoint a confident architect capable of leading projects from early design through delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining creative thinking with the practical detail needed to get buildings designed, coordinated and built properly. You’ll work across a broad portfolio that may include commercial, residential, education, healthcare and public sector projects, giving you genuine variety rather than keeping you tied to one project type.
Working closely with clients, consultants and internal colleagues, you’ll take responsibility for developing design proposals, producing and reviewing technical information, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and supporting projects through planning, building warrant, tender and construction. You’ll be trusted to manage priorities, communicate clearly and maintain high standards throughout each stage of the process.
The successful candidate will be ARB registered and will already have solid experience working within a UK architectural practice. You should be comfortable running projects, chairing or contributing to design team meetings and dealing directly with clients and contractors. Strong technical knowledge, a sound understanding of UK building regulations and confidence producing coordinated construction information are essential. Experience using Revit would be highly valuable, alongside a practical awareness of BIM processes.
Just as importantly, this practice is looking for someone personable, organised and commercially aware. You’ll need to balance design quality with programme, budget and client expectations, while knowing when to ask questions and when to make a decision. If you enjoy working collaboratively but still want the autonomy to lead, you should feel at home here.
The role offers the chance to join a stable, well-established business with access to expertise beyond architecture. That multidisciplinary environment creates stronger project insight, closer collaboration and opportunities to broaden your commercial understanding. You can expect support with professional development, exposure to significant projects and a team culture where good people are trusted to get on with the job.
The position is based in Glasgow and would suit an architect already living in the west of Scotland, or someone planning a move to the city. A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered, tailored to experience, with flexibility discussed as part of the process.
If your current role has become repetitive, progression feels vague, or you’re ready to take on more responsibility within a recognised Scottish consultancy, this is well worth a confidential conversation.
I’m managing the recruitment process directly and can give you an honest overview of the team, workload, expectations and opportunity before you decide whether to proceed. Apply with your CV, or contact me privately for an initial conversation. All enquiries will be handled discreetly and nothing will be shared with the employer without your agreement.
This is an opportunity to shape your next career move without pressure, noise or a drawn-out application process from the outset.
