NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is full time with out of hours. This is a Fixed term post until August 2026 and may be extended thereafter.

We are seeking to appoint a clinical fellow in general and colorectal surgery, at a level commensurate to an ST7 or greater and should be post‑FRCS. The post is based within the Department of Surgery, Glasgow Royal Infirmary but the fellow may also have clinical commitments at Stobhill ACH. The GRI provides subspecialist sarcoma, advanced pelvic oncology, intestinal failure, HPB and oesophago‑gastric surgical services.

There is also a strong robotic colorectal practice and input into the twice‑weekly multispecialty gynaecological oncology operating lists.

The applicant should have a colorectal subspecialty interest and have experience in emergency general surgery. The fellow will contribute to the on‑call general surgical registrar rota (1:15 full shift).
