About

The Role

As a Doctor Functional Assessor at Maximus, you will apply your clinical expertise to evaluate how a person’s disability or health condition impacts their daily life. You’ll handle complex cases involving veterans or neurological conditions, industrial injuries, and respiratory diseases. The role offers 6 weeks of structured training followed by ongoing mentorship.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video, or face‑to‑face assessments to determine the impact of a disability or health condition on daily life rota
• Produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports to support the Department for Work and Pensions in determining eligibility for benefits
• Develop your clinical knowledge and assessment skills through regular feedback and supervision

Requirements

• Valid GMC registration number
• At least 1 year of broad post‑registration experience within or outside the NHS
• Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship available
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports
