Location: Glasgow City Centre, St Vincent Street (Private GP Practice)
Hours: Monday to Friday
Contract: 8-10 sessions per week, including protected management and leadership time.
Salary: Competitive Lead GP salary package

HCA UK Primary Care Glasgow is seeking an experienced Lead General Practitioner to join our growing team on a salaried basis (minimum 8 sessions). As Lead GP
, you will combine clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities, acting as the key clinical leader within the practice. You will work closely with the Practice Manager to ensure high standards of patient safety, clinical governance, operational effectiveness, and patient satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical leadership and support to fellow GPs
- Leading local clinical governance activities and quality improvement initiatives
- Supporting the induction, mentorship, and development of new GPs
- Ensuring robust clinical pathways, policies, and patient safety processes
- Partnering with the Practice Manager to drive an effective and efficient service
- Acting as a role model for clinical excellence and patient-centred care
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will deliver high-quality clinical care to an adult private patient population through GP consultations and health screening appointments.
You will:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and health screenings
- Explore medical histories and health concerns in depth
- Arrange and interpret investigations
- Provide expert medical advice and treatment recommendations
- Prescribe where appropriate
- Support patients in achieving sustainable lifestyle and behaviour change
- Develop personalised health improvement plans
Our extended appointment times allow you to have meaningful conversations around prevention, wellbeing, and long-term health optimisation. GP consultations are 15 minutes
, while health assessments range from 30 minutes to 2 hours
, depending on the screening programme.
You will also undertake procedures including:
- Phlebotomy (blood taking)
- Cervical screening (smear tests)
- ECGs
