Consultant Core Urological Surgeon

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

Applications are invited for 2 Consultant Urological Surgeons with a speciality interest in Core Urology and Benign Prostate Enlargement Services.

This post may close early to the volume of response.

• The successful applicant must be experienced in dealing with all aspects of core urology.
• Other sub-specialty interests would be considered if they complement the department’s spread of activity.
• The out of hours commitment will be a 1 in 11 on-call rota.
• You should be an appropriately trained individual who is able to provide a urological service at consultant level.
• The elective sessions relating to the post will be delivered from the QEUH, Victoria Ambulatory Care Facility and Gartnavel General Hospital.

• Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.
• Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
• CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once CESR is awarded.
• Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.

• Shift pattern for this post is Full Time. Salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
• The jobs are offered as full-time posts on a 10 PA basis.
