You will contribute to the Participatory Harm Auditing Workbenches and Methodologies (PHAWM) project, funded by Responsible AI UK, working with Dr. Mark Wong.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to: i) the design of training content and curriculum on participatory auditing of AI using PHAWM’s workbenches and methodologies; ii) communicating PHAWM’s research to non-expert audiences; iii) delivery of training for, and engagement with, external partners/stakeholders; iv) promotion of PHAWM’s training campaign; v) evaluation of training outcomes and potentially formulating other public-facing or academic outputs as well as helping to manage and direct the impact and communication goals of this complex and challenging project.
The PHAWM project () seeks to support diverse stakeholders without an AI background, such as practitioners, regulators, civil society, and marginalised communities, to undertake audits of predictive and generative AI, either individually or collectively. To enable stakeholders to carry out an audit, the project will produce workbenches that support them in assessing the potential impact and harms of AI. PHAWM brings together a consortium of 7 academic institutions and 28 partner organisations with the goal of ensuring that AI is ethical and trustworthy.
The postholder will work within a highly interdisciplinary team and contribute to developing a series of impactful training and engagement opportunities that enable diverse stakeholders to undertake participatory audits.
