Join our Team, working hard to ensure that ‘Every child in every school will confidently grasp the challenges of tomorrow’

The Golden Thread Alliance is a multi-academy Trust comprising nine fantastic schools in the Dartford and Gravesham areas and we are currently recruiting for Governors at some of our schools.

Each of our schools has its own unique character but all subscribe to the Trust’s values of Respect, Equality, Courage, Integrity, Ambition, Kindness and Responsibility
.

Governance Philosophy

“Governance has never been more critical to the education of our nation’s young people.” – Baroness Elizabeth Berridge, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Schools, October 2020.

We are looking to appoint Governors to work collaboratively with our Senior Leaders to be the champions of their school and community; to offer support and ask appropriately challenging questions. In essence to be the advocates for the life chances of children within their school.

You do not need any special qualifications; we just want you to bring a real passion for supporting every child to achieve and succeed.

We encourage applications from all members of society, regardless of background, culture, gender, ethnicity, disability, or age (as long as you are over 18) and we really do look forward to hearing from you.

Meeting Commitments

Governors have four meetings per year, some of which will be during the school day to carry out supported monitoring visits.

Please do allow additional time for reading the agenda and reports prior to each meeting.

Support and Training

Our Trust is unique in the support it offers governors, through information and training and through access to qualified and highly skilled expert staff, who offer guidance, advice and support.

Legal and Regulatory Information

The Golden Thread Alliance is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020 and therefore is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure. In line with KCSIE guidance, paragraph 220, all candidates who are shortlisted will be subject to an online search.

This search is not part of the shortlisting process itself and all shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to address any issues of concern resulting from the search.

Two references are also required prior to commencement of employment.

Early applications are encouraged, and The Golden Thread Alliance reserves the right to close the vacancy if a suitable candidate is found.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
