** OVERVIEW The Executive Dean (Academic) – Transnational Education Partnership is a senior academic leadership role within the James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow. The postholder provides academic oversight and strategic leadership for the University’s Transnational Education Partnership with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China:
Glasgow College UESTC. This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment of up to four years, based across Glasgow, Chengdu, and Hainan, with a strong international and cross-cultural dimension.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide senior academic leadership across campuses in Glasgow, Chengdu, and Hainan – Ensure high-quality education delivery within the transnational education partnership – Lead and support international partnership governance arrangements – Engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders – Act as the most senior representative of the University of Glasgow in China REQUIREMENTS – Extensive experience in international higher education – Demonstrated experience in cross-cultural leadership – Proven background in strategic academic management WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role is central to the success and sustainability of a major transnational education partnership, ensuring that academic standards and institutional values are upheld across international locations.
