Overview

Are you a highly motivated, experienced and innovative student services professional who thrives on making a real difference to learner outcomes?

We are seeking an exceptional Attendance and Behaviour Officer to join our Student Experience and Support team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader who is committed to raising aspirations, driving positive student behaviours and creating an inclusive culture where every learner can succeed. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing attendance, behaviour and attitudes across the College, ensuring consistently high expectations are maintained and that students are fully supported to achieve their potential.

Working collaboratively with staff across the organisation, you will lead interventions, manage disciplinary processes and use data-driven insights to improve student engagement and success.

Key responsibilities:

• To act as a role model in relation to inclusion and student wellbeing and to role model the PRIDE values to students and colleagues.
• To manage, monitor and ensure timely interventions are actioned to maximise student attendance to ensure that the College KPIs are met and exceeded.
• Provide reports with detailed analysis of attendance and behaviour, identifying patterns, themes and create action plans to address areas of need.
• To work closely with Progress Coaches and Attendance & Intervention Officers to support them in providing exceptional intervention to address attendance and behavioural issues in a timely manner.
• Lead and manage the learner disciplinary process across college, ensuring the College maintains a positive learning environment and supports learners to make positive decisions.
• Offer guidance and support to colleagues across the College to enable them to manage absence and learner behaviour.

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience working with young people in an educational, pastoral, safeguarding or behaviour support environment.
• Proven ability to manage challenging situations confidently, using positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with learners, colleagues, parents and external agencies.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to analyse data, maintain accurate records and produce detailed reports.
