University of the Ozarks invites applications for a current opening as a tenure track Assistant Professor of Health Science or Health Promotion beginning August 2026. Candidates should be ABD or have earned a Ph.D. degree in Health Science, Public Health, or a closely related discipline. Candidates with a master’s degree and a record of teaching excellence will be considered. The desired applicant would have the ability to work as part of a strong team supporting students in our Exercise Science and Health Promotion majors and minors.

Primary responsibilities of this position include the teaching of courses with a focus on health promotion and education. Candidates with the ability to teach some or all of the following will be given preference: introduction to health promotion, health leadership, health management and administration, and health policy. We expect the candidate’s expertise will enhance the Health Promotion’s curriculum and will be encouraged to collaborate with students and colleagues to conduct research in the state of the art research facilities.

University of the Ozarks values personal attention and collegiality, thus a familiarity with and understanding of a small and residential campus are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in working with a culturally diverse student body. Excellent communication skills and support of the University’s mission are also required.
