Delivery Executive, Adult Skills Programme

South West England Commute required - Contract

From October, be the face of an Adult Skills Programme on: confidence-building, digital skills, employability and AI literacy courses for adults across a region in the south west of England. These courses are our mission in action: helping adults gain digital confidence and skills, and converting this into real economic options.

• Facilitate engaging blended sessions (mostly online, with face-to-face sessions at community venues) for adults who may be anxious, out of work, or returning to learning after a long gap.
• Build each learner’s confidence and track their progress: agreeing individual learning plans, keeping clear session records, and helping every completer take their next step.
• Own learner recruitment alongside delivery: building and maintaining referral relationships with Jobcentre Plus, libraries, community organisations and housing associations. This is a crucial part of the role as we need to ensure we are actively finding learners for our programmes — learners do not arrive by themselves.
• Contribute beyond delivery: the programme is small enough that you will also help grow the curriculum and make improvements based on feedback from our associates.

• You are a natural facilitator. You read a room (including a virtual one), adapt on the spot, and make nervous people feel capable. A teaching background is welcome but not required; we care how you make people feel, not what your certificate says.
• You are passionate about education and what AI means for it, and you already use AI tools confidently yourself.
• You are organised and self-managing: you will work remotely much of the time and the paperwork genuinely matters on this contract.
• You believe adults who have been failed by systems deserve teaching that treats them as capable.

• A small team where you get real ownership from week one. Nobody will micromanage you. Whether that sounds exciting or terrifying tells you most of what you need to know about fit.
• Transparent salary bands (above), flexibility on permanent vs freelance structure, and remote-first working with some in-person days.
• We use AI in everything we do and we will invest in you being excellent with it.
• If you are full-time permanent we offer 25 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays.

Breakthrough is a small, fast-moving team. Whatever your role, you will also get involved in things like appearing in our social media and video content, contributing to reporting and impact stories, and supporting recruitment and events. • An enhanced DBS check is required before you can work with learners. We will start it the day you accept, and we pay for it.
• You will complete a short set of pre-delivery training modules in September, paid.
• Travel costs to and from delivery locations outside of London will be reimbursed.
• £25,000 to £30,000 or freelance equivalent | Start late September 2026
