Scale Solar Electrician

Overview

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the global energy market. The company has a vast portfolio of renewable energy assets and a strong culture focused on supporting its employees. We’re looking for a Level 3 qualified Electrician to join the team to cover different technologies in renewable energy across Scotland.

• Reporting to the Field Service Team Leader you will:
  Ensure the best performance of large-scale renewable energy assets
• Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar and battery storage sites
• Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties
• Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues
• Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets
• Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems
• Look for trends and use data analysis to spot common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result
• Occasional assistance with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance and site CCTV
• Occasional working away from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs this

• At least a Level 3 qualification in electrical installation
• 2391 test and inspection is hugely preferred
• Any health and safety qualifications are a benefit
• Full UK driving licence

• The Field Service Technician role would suit someone who enjoys being on the road visiting sites
• Someone who enjoys fault-finding and maintenance rather than installation
• Wants to contribute to the renewable energy industry

• Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience
