As our Power Transmission & Distribution business continues to grow across Scotland, we're looking for a Plant Operations Specialist to become the regional expert for all plant-related matters across a diverse portfolio of major energy projects.

This is a hands-on operational role where you'll work closely with project teams to ensure the right plant, equipment and vehicles are available when and where they're needed. From forecasting future requirements and optimising utilisation to supporting plant procurement and cost control, you'll play a vital role in keeping projects running safely, efficiently and cost effectively.

Based from either Glasgow or Inverness, you'll travel to sites across Scotland, including locations such as Dundee, Elgin, Argyll, Invergarry and the Isle of Skye.

As the Plant & Logistics Operations Specialist, you'll act as a key point of contact for our project teams, ensuring plant and equipment requirements are effectively planned, managed and optimised across the Power Transmission & Distribution business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the key point of contact for all plant-related matters across Scottish Power T&D projects.
• Working with project teams to forecast, plan and coordinate plant requirements.
• Monitoring plant utilisation and helping projects maximise efficiency while reducing unnecessary spend.
• Supporting the specification, sourcing and mobilisation of plant, equipment and vehicles.
• Liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers and specialist plant providers to resolve operational issues.
• Supporting projects with plant budgets, cost recovery, damage reduction initiatives and hire management.
• Identifying opportunities for cost savings and continuous improvement across plant operations.
• Visiting project sites to build strong working relationships and provide practical operational support.
• Providing regional support on fleet and PPE-related matters when required.

We're looking for somebody with strong plant knowledge who understands how operational projects depend on having the right equipment, vehicles and resources available at the right time.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience coordinating plant, fleet or equipment requirements within construction, utilities, infrastructure, rail, civils or energy sectors.
• Knowledge of plant hire, mobilisation, utilisation and off-hire processes.
• Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple project demands.
• Experience working with operational project teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
  
  Commercial awareness and an understanding of cost management and budget control.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• A willingness to travel regularly across Scotland to support project teams.
