Position: Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Permanent)

Established in the 1990s, the business has grown steadily and now operates from offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, and London. In 2024, they were acquired by a major engineering group, strengthening their capability in low-carbon and sustainable design and providing significant investment for expansion across England and Wales.

The organisation have recently moved into a modern space with capacity for 40+ workstations. The team is diverse and collaborative, with excellent retention and a strong focus on professional development. Hybrid working is standard (typically 3 days in the office, 2 from home), and the company actively supports chartership, leadership training, and mentoring.

Your new role
You will join the electrical engineering team delivering a wide range of projects across education, healthcare, commercial, cultural, and residential sectors. There is a strong emphasis on low-carbon design, Passivhaus standards, and decarbonisation  responsibilities include:
Designing electrical building services systems from concept through to completion
Collaborating with mechanical engineers and sustainability specialists
Using BIM tools (IES VE, TAS) and contributing to energy modelling
Managing client relationships and project delivery timelines
Supporting junior engineers and contributing to team development

What you'll need to succeed

Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
Proven experience in electrical design within building services
Strong communication and project management skills
Passion for sustainability and energy-efficient solutions
