Key Responsibilities
  • Work as an effective member of a project team, exhibiting strong communication skills and collaborating with other team members of different skill sets.
  • Write and review compelling technical project reports to highlight key technical factors of client projects and support R&D tax claims.
  • Take a leading role in interacting with clients’ senior technical and engineering staff to develop a comprehensive understanding of the projects undertaken and identify how aspects of projects meet the R&D Guidelines.
  • Undertake data analysis and calculation to quantify project expenditure.
  • Apply advanced problem‑solving skills and critical thinking to project execution and delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients to provide high levels of client service.
  • Ensure high‑quality delivery of advice and solutions to major clients, managing risk and reputation.
  • Adapt and flex existing knowledge to different sectors and build on core capabilities.
Skills and Attributes for Success

What we look for:

  • A strong interest in construction technology, civil engineering, and infrastructure innovation.
  • Industry‑based experience dealing with technological challenges faced by construction professionals, such as:
    • Engineering design and structural analysis
    • Development or improvement of construction methods
    • Use of advanced materials or sustainable technologies
    • Complex geotechnical or environmental engineering solutions
  • Ability to adapt quickly to and learn about different industry sectors – highways, rail, utilities, commercial builds – and strong business acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to produce concise summaries of information.
  • Strong attention to detail and first‑time accuracy.
  • Interest in project and company finances and the application of tax treatment.
To Qualify for the Role, You Must
  • Be degree‑qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Have construction or civil engineering industry experience (2+ years).
  • Have excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management.
  • Have the flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have

Previous R&D tax experience is not required but is advantageous.
