Senior Building Performance Modelling Engineer – Glasgow

An established engineering and sustainability consultancy is expanding its Glasgow-based team and is seeking a talented Senior Building Performance Modelling Engineer to support continued growth. The organisation works across a wide range of building sectors, providing integrated design, technical expertise, and innovative solutions to help clients deliver efficient, low-carbon projects. The Building Performance Modelling & Sustainability teams collaborate closely with engineering specialists to deliver full building services solutions.

About the Role

As a key member of the Building Performance Modelling team, you will help develop:

• Energy and decarbonisation strategies

• Sustainability approaches for new-build and existing buildings

• Performance modelling to support engineering design

• Site assessments and environmental evaluations

You will also have opportunities to broaden your knowledge of environmental systems, undertake assessments, provide sustainability guidance, and work towards professional membership.

Preferred Skills & Experience

We welcome candidates with:

• BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in a Built Environment or Engineering-related subject

• 2+ years’ experience in building physics (heat transfer, thermal comfort, ventilation, energy modelling)

• Experience using IES-VE

• Low Carbon Energy Assessor accreditation

• Understanding of daylight analysis, TM54, decarbonisation studies, and sustainability rating tools (BREEAM, NABERS)

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach

• Analytical thinking and a creative mindset

• Strong organisation, task management, and awareness of commercial design factors

• A genuine passion for sustainable building design
