Job Description & How to Apply Below

Fluid Environmental Consulting is an environmental consultancy with staff based in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Bristol servicing the onshore renewables and rural development sector. We are specialists in hydrology, hydrogeology, peat and carbon assessments and expand our offering in this sector by working in collaboration with a select group of experienced associates. We pride ourselves in the delivery of high-quality products to support an expanding group of clients.

The Role

We are looking for both senior and principal level environmental consultants, ideally with experience in hydrology, hydrogeology, geology and peat assessments, to join our team. We pride ourselves on our work ethic, flexible working opportunities and mentoring, and as we are a small team you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of our projects.

The position offers an opportunity to take on a key role in our group where you can make a real difference and be part of shaping the success and direction of the company.

Candidates will ideally have experience in disciplines such as EIA report preparation for the water and soils environment, hydrological and hydrogeological assessments for rural developments, private and public water supply assessment, GWDTE and peat assessments including peat management plans and peat restoration.

You would be involved in managing staff, liaising with clients, budget control, project deliverables, proposals and supporting the wider team.

You will also be supported by Technical Director review and guidance.

The positions are hybrid, full or part time, flexible and in conjunction with our Glasgow or Edinburgh offices.

Attributes

A degree, or post graduate qualification, in a water or environmental related discipline.

Strong report writing skills with attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to potential issues with a ‘can do’ attitude to helping clients.

Comfortable with fieldwork in Scotland, and other parts of the UK, on remote and rural sites throughout the year, using mapping and field equipment to identify the relevant issues and constraints on site and transfer this information into GIS and reports.

Confidence in dealing with clients, regulators and members of the public both in meetings and on site.

A good understanding of environmental legislation for the water environment and peat.

A Full UK driving licence and eligible to work in the UK.

We offer:

Flexible working hours to enable you to work around other personal commitments and either full or part-time working.

34 days annual leave per year

Pension contribution

Annual bonus

Payment of relevant professional subscriptions

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications

A commitment to train all our staff both for technical advancement and safety aspects
