Anderson Knight has a new Opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects delivered under the NEC suite of contracts. The QS will ensure that projects are delivered on budget, within contract terms, and in compliance with all commercial governance procedures.

📌 Key Responsibilities

* Manage the commercial performance of NEC-based projects (ECC Option A, C, or others).

* Prepare, submit, and agree Applications for Payment, Compensation Events (CEs), and Early Warnings in accordance with NEC contract mechanisms.

* Assist in drafting and reviewing contractual correspondence and notices.

* Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts.

* Support change control processes and pricing of contract changes.

* Liaise with project teams, clients, and subcontractors on commercial matters.

* Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and support monthly commercial reviews.

* Ensure adherence to contractual timelines, especially under NEC requirements.

* Assist in risk management and value engineering processes.

Required Experience & Qualifications

* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar.

* Minimum 3 years of experience in a QS or commercial role.

* Proven experience working with NEC3/NEC4 contracts (ECC or others).

* Strong understanding of NEC contractual mechanisms: CEs, EWN, Programme.

* Experience in managing cost control, budgets, and subcontract accounts.

* Proficient in using industry-standard tools (e.g., Cemar, Aconex, MS Excel, etc.).

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

* High attention to detail and strong numerical skills.

* Proactive, with a commercial mindset.

* Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

* Confident in advising project teams on contractual obligations.

Desirable

* Membership of RICS, CIOB, or working towards chartership.

* Experience with NEC ECC Option C (Target Cost) contracts.

* Familiarity with infrastructure, civil engineering, or utilities projects.

* Knowledge of cost management software or ERP systems
