Controls and Instrument Engineer / County of Lanarkshire/ Industrial Manufacturing / £60k-£70k + benefits
Overview
An exciting opportunity to join a globally recognised industrial organisation that prides itself on technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining hands-on technical work with system optimisation and project involvement. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of instrumentation and automation systems that are critical to operational success.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and manage calibration systems and schedules in line with recognised industry standards
* Perform and oversee calibration of a wide range of process instrumentation
* Analyse calibration results, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions
* Specify, procure, and commission new control and instrumentation equipment
* Troubleshoot process control and calibration issues with production and quality teams
* Support and maintain automation platforms including PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems
* Maintain accurate technical documentation and change records
* Deliver training to operational teams on systems and procedures
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements
* Evaluate emerging technologies to support continuous improvement
Requirements
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Process Control, or related discipline
* Proven experience in calibration and process control within manufacturing or process industries
* Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation
* Experience with PLC and SCADA platforms and process data systems
* Familiarity with internationally recognised quality and environmental standards
* Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and collaborative working style
