Aboutthe Role - Engineering Supervisor (Dayshift)
Help keep Glasgow moving. We're seeking a proactive, hands‑on Engineering Supervisor to join our team at the Glasgow depot. In this key role, you'll be responsible for leading and developing a high‑performing engineering team, overseeing both scheduled and reactive maintenance, and ensuring all vehicles meet regulatory and safety standards.
You’ll play a vital part in maintaining vehicle availability and service reliability, while also supporting stock control and warranty processes. With full PPE and tools provided, this is an opportunity to step into a leadership role where your expertise and direction make a real difference every day.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee fleet maintenance and servicing in partnership with the Engineering Manager
- Recruit, induct, and develop a motivated and high‑performing engineering team
- Plan and allocate both scheduled and unscheduled work, including managing short‑notice absences
- Ensure vehicle availability aligns with operational requirements
- Support effective stock management and the accurate, timely processing of warranty claims
- Maintain precise records relating to engineering standards, performance, fleet, and environmental management
- Manage disciplinary, grievance, and absence reviews in line with company policy
- Work closely with depot operational and engineering colleagues to manage service delivery, including vehicle allocation, breakdowns, changeovers, punctuality, and reliability
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
- Strong knowledge of workshop safety and prior supervisory experience
- Well organised with good IT skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable but not essential)
- Right to work in the UK
