Their mission is to address the challenges of achieving a sustainable future by innovating to reduce the production, storage, and synergy costs of renewable energy.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Energy Modelling Analyst to join our client’s team in Madrid.

Role Overview

As a Junior Energy Modelling Analyst, you will play a key role in building and analysing complex models that support the design, optimisation and commercial strategy of integrated energy projects. Your work will focus on hydrogen production, renewable generation, energy storage, and their interaction within evolving electricity markets. You will contribute to critical decisions on asset configuration, sizing and operational strategies, ensuring alignment between technical performance and commercial value.

Responsibilities
  • Build and structure robust, end‑to‑end technical models for energy assets, including hydrogen production systems, renewables and storage technologies.
  • Analyse and optimise asset design and operational strategies, including configuration, sizing and performance under different market scenarios.
  • Translate power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other commercial structures into modelling frameworks that reflect contract behaviour and market dynamics.
  • Evaluate revenue strategies and market exposure, ensuring consistency between technical assumptions and financial outcomes.
  • Monitor developments in electricity market design and revenue mechanisms, incorporating relevant insights into models and analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering, commercial and investment teams to align technical design with overall value creation and investment objectives.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Proven experience in modelling energy systems or assets, with an understanding of how technologies interact with market and regulatory frameworks.
  • 1-3 years of experience in energy/infrastructure sectors (e.g. asset management, consulting, business development or market analysis).
  • Solid knowledge of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), including risk allocation and impact on project economics.
  • Strong understanding of electricity markets, power systems, and renewable technologies (solar PV, wind, battery storage; hydrogen knowledge is a plus).
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work with complex datasets and assumptions.
