Requirements of the roleWe’re offering a permanent opportunity within our newly established Asset Health & Network Resilience team, where you will contribute to the creation of a new Asset Health Inspectorate. Providing engineering insight and oversight for licensed energy companies, you will support secure, resilient infrastructure that delivers for consumers.
Operating as a senior engineering specialist within Ofgem, you’ll support informed decision-making at senior levels, helping ensure that regulatory approaches are underpinned by strong engineering judgement and a clear understanding of risk, resilience and long-term system needs.
You’ll contribute to the development of frameworks and approaches that strengthen oversight of energy infrastructure across the sector and engage with colleagues and external stakeholders to support consistent, proportionate and future-focused assurance that helps protect consumers and support a secure transition to net zero.
Job DescriptionWe’re looking for a highly experienced specialist engineer with deep technical expertise in electrical asset health, lifecycle management and network resilience within the regulated electricity sector. You’ll be confident operating in complex organisational settings, influencing senior stakeholders and translating complex technical issues into clear, accessible advice for non‑technical audiences.
