Job Title:
C&I Lead Principal Engineer
Location:
Glasgow
Currently recruiting for a C&I Lead Principal Engineer based in Glasgow on a 12 month contract duration.
Responsibilities- Work activities will include project work as the functional Lead Engineer on a project for the gas transmission industry.
- Lead a team of Engineers and Designers both based in the UK and globally to deliver the C&I scope of work on the project.
- Work activities will be executed across FEED and Detailed Design phases of projects.
- Project work will include the development of Control & Instrument Engineering deliverables.
- Experience in Control & Instrument Engineering Design on medium/large capital projects from concept to start-up.
- Extensive experience in the gas industry.
- Previous experience on NGT projects preferable and/or G35 approver experience is preferred.
- Competent in working within the C&I Discipline of a contracting organisation.
- Competent to lead the C&I Discipline interface with other disciplines.
- Very good proactive communicator; liaison with client engineers and project management.
- Proven ability for equipment specification and selection and ensuring compliance from suppliers, preferably within an EPC contracting organisation.
- Competent in project execution using selected design tools and techniques.
- Competent in budget and schedule control/monitoring and reporting.
- Competent in design safety and constructability.
- Ability to work to company standards.
- Innovative when appropriate.
- Competent in electrical protection methodologies.
- Competent in specification, technical bid analysis, and requisitioning of field instrumentation and analyzers.
- Competent in the application, specification, and requisitioning of DCS, PLC, and SIS systems, with experience in the system's full lifecycle (TUV FS Eng qualification or equivalent preferable).
- Competent in the specification, design, and implementation of hazardous area instrumentation (ATEX).
- Competent in instrumentation and control requirements for mechanical packages.
- Competent in P&t.
- Competent in the sizing of flow devices, control valves, and relief devices.
- Experience working with global integrated delivery teams is preferred.
