Location:
Southampton hybrid, 3 days per week on-site Salary: £45-60K plus excellent benefits package About the Opportunity Our client is a fast-growing maritime technology business at the forefront of sustainable shipping, developing innovative wind-assisted propulsion systems that help commercial vessels reduce fuel consumption and emissions . They are now looking to appoint a Project Manager to help deliver projects from concept through to installation and operation .
This is not a traditional project management role focused mainly on reporting, governance, or administration. Instead, the focus is on driving execution , maintaining momentum, and ensuring commitments are delivered on time and on budget . The successful candidate will help coordinate delivery across engineering , procurement , manufacturing suppliers , shipyards , and customers , ensuring projects continue to move forward when no single function owns the whole problem.
This role is particularly well suited to someone with a few years of relevant experience who brings strong technical understanding , excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills, and the potential to grow with the business over time. Key Requirements You will be someone with relevant experience in project delivery , engineering , manufacturing , marine , industrial , operations , or a similar technical environment, with the ability to drive progress across multiple work streams and stakeholders.
You will also bring:
Strong technical understanding and the ability to work credibly with engineering and operational teams Good stakeholder management and strong relationship-building skills Proven ability to help deliver projects on time and on budget Strong evidence of ownership , problem solving , and delivery The ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and keep projects moving where responsibilities are not always clear A highly proactive approach and comfort taking responsibility without constant direction The ability to turn discussions into clear actions , identify blockers early, and follow issues through to resolution Strong organisational ability and structured thinking Clear written and verbal communication Confidence coordinating multiple stakeholders across technical and commercial functions A pragmatic , solution-focused mindset Desirable experience includes:
Shipping knowledge Marine , shipbuilding , offshore , or manufacturing experience Exposure to fabrication , procurement , or supplier coordination Familiarity with project tools Experience in a start-up or fast-growth business Role & Responsibilities As Project Manager , you will be responsible for helping ensure projects move forward at pace, with clear actions, strong coordination, and effective communication across all stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include:
Coordinating delivery across engineering , procurement , manufacturing suppliers , shipyards , and customers Helping ensure projects progress even where no single function owns the whole problem Driving execution , maintaining momentum, and ensuring commitments are delivered Building practical project plans , timelines, budgets, and progress updates Helping ensure delivery remains on time and on budget Identifying risks and blockers early, and coordinating the right people to resolve issues Turning discussions into clear actions and following them through to completion Supporting delivery across supplier , manufacturing , shipyard , and installation activities Maintaining clear project documentation and reporting for leadership Helping improve project delivery processes as the business grows Why Join?
