** Scottish Water is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and adaptable individual to join our Multifunctional Waste Water Team in the Wester Ross Area (Gairloch/Ullapool).
** What you’ll do
** You’ll be part of a team of multi-functional Wastewater Operatives working to protect Scotland’s environment - ensuring wastewater is managed responsibly and always looking for ways to do even more. On the one hand, it’s about meeting regulations. On the other, it’s about how we can go further – all the while doing what’s right for the environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll monitor and maintain treatment processes on wastewater treatment assts, maintain and operate pumping stations and clear chokes on the wastewater network.
** What you’ll need
** To succeed in this role, you’ll need great communication skills and the confidence to work independently, taking responsibility for completing tasks efficiently. Strong attention to detail is essential, especially when recording information and spotting any changes in monitoring data. You’ll need to be a problem-solver, ready to tackle issues as they arise, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

A good understanding of health and safety practices is important, along with the ability to quickly pick up new systems and complete online training. Experience working with internal and external stakeholders is a bonus, as is any knowledge of Scottish Water’s operations or the wider legislative and regulatory environment. We’re also looking for a strong team player who’s willing to roll up their sleeves—this is a hands-on role in a physical environment, where you’ll sometimes be working in challenging conditions.

But don’t worry, full training and protective equipment will be provided to keep you safe.

** The not-so-small print
** This role will be a Grade 4. If you’re new to Scottish Water, you’ll join us on a starting salary of £31,640. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £36,460. We operate Balanced Hybrid working at Scottish Water and we encourage people to work half their time in a Scottish Water location.
