Uniquely, we recruit to role – and right now we’re looking for a Graduate Transport Planner to join our Transport Planning Scotland team in Edinburgh or Glasgow. As a Graduate Transport Planner, you will contribute to the successful delivery of transport projects from inception to detailed design, providing expert advisory services and developing robust deliverables for successful transport projects and strategies.
WhatDoes the Role Involve?
- Collect, analyse, and appraise data related to transport systems, including traffic patterns, public transport usage, and demographic data.
- Provide day‑to‑day technical input as part of a team of consultants.
- Produce clear, well‑reasoned reports that effectively interpret data and other evidence and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Ensure outputs are completed in accordance with scope, timescales, and budgets.
- Collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines to deliver project requirements and added value to the client.
- Engage with the Transport Planning Society’s Professional Development Scheme, supporting progression towards becoming a Chartered Transport Planning Professional.

What Do You Need to Apply?- Have a degree relevant to the role you’re applying for.
- Have less than 12 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements).
- Be confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Be driven, proactive, and solution‑oriented.
- Be able to work in the UK without restrictions, now or in the future.
The Graduate Scheme offers a two‑year blended learning experience, with a tailored programme delivered virtually and face‑to‑face.
