Our client is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their Glasgow office, leading the design and delivery of projects across the residential, commercial, education, and healthcare sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of an established Building Services team with a strong reputation for delivering high–quality, sustainable engineering solutions. You'll work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams, providing technical leadership while mentoring and developing junior engineers.

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will:

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects from concept through to completion.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and technicians.
• Manage project resources, programmes, and technical outputs.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, and design documentation.
• Develop strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, and architectural teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Support and mentor junior engineers, helping to develop technical capability across the team.
• Contribute to business development activities and help identify new opportunities.

• Extensive experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, and public health systems.
• Experience delivering projects across residential, commercial, education, and healthcare sectors.
• Proven ability to lead projects and manage client relationships.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status, or working towards Chartership, would be advantageous.
