Role Description
As an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer at Arcadis, you will play a key role in delivering some of the UK’s most exciting and challenging infrastructure projects. You will work alongside a talented team, contributing to geotechnical design, ground investigations, and technical reporting. RoleAccountabilities
- Support the preparation of geotechnical calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports in line with project and industry standards.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of ground investigations and geotechnical solutions.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, project partners, and colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Take ownership of your professional development, supported by experienced team members.
- Assist in managing project components, ensuring effective communication and timely delivery.
- Degree (MEng/MSc) in Civil Engineering (with a geotechnical bias), Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology.
- Some experience in the civil engineering industry, ideally with exposure to geotechnical design and/or site investigations.
- Familiarity with geotechnical software (e.g., VDISP/PDISP, WALLAP, REPUTE, Slope/W) and standard office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong numerical and written communication skills, with an ability to prepare clear technical reports.
- Enthusiastic about learning, problem-solving, and working within a team.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
