Job Spec - Civil/Structural Engineer

We're seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our expanding team. Supporting our Senior Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering engineering solutions across the renewable energy sector and wider infrastructure projects. You'll play a key role in the delivery of power and grid-related projects, including BESS and solar sites, substations, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and wider renewable energy developments.

• Designing and specifying civil and structural elements for energy infrastructure, including BESS equipment foundations, steel support structures, access roads, earthworks, cable routes, site layout development, and associated assets.
• Producing high-quality deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, scope documentation, in line with industry standards and client requirements.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, civil, and project delivery teams, to develop safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.
• Reviewing technical drawings, and supplier/contractor submissions to ensure compliance, constructability, and technical integrity.
• Supporting and mentoring early-career engineers/technicians, contributing to technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent) with minimum 3 years post graduate experience.
• Ideally towards Ieng/CEng with ICE or IStruct

• Strong understanding of European design standards, constructability, and interdisciplinary design coordination.
• Able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Confident communicator, able to engage with clients and stakeholders.
• Good technical knowledge.
• Team player.
• Experience in the following:
  • Design of infrastructure or energy projects (e.g. substations, utilities, industrial or heavy civil works).
  • Design of structural steelwork, RC foundations, bar bending schedules, pavements, earthworks, and site layout development.
  • Production of calculations, specifications, and scope documentation.
  • Managing construction project quality assurance and document control across projects within area of responsibility.
  • Supporting project managers in project delivery.
  • Client facing roles.
  • Technical review of drawings.
